Why i Hate November
Summer is my favorite time of the year. Living in Rhode Island surrounded by the ocean, my friends and i used to love going to the beach. We would spend hours in Newport, Sand Hill Cove and Narragansett. Even working the month of July in an inner city daycare center was fun. The kids and i sat in front of a fountain that we used as a kiddie pool. The last summer i spent there i was golden brown before Felix dragged me down to Jersey. For me September is a melancholy month. My birthday is in September and i like back to school, but September reminds me that fall is coming and Fall reminds me that winter is coming and did i mention that i hate winter. October can be fun with Halloween and the leaves turning colors but November is a bleak, cold month. November begins with All Saints and All Souls Day when we remember our dead people. Then comes Election Day- how depressing is that? We get to vote for the same old hacks as the weather gets colder and our fuel bills begin. i don't like the way we celebrate Thanksgiving; it's more about eating than being thankful; however I enjoy the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas, but then there's that long, dark, cold time between January thru April. Eventually, the sun comes back, the days get longer and life is good again. But it begins to go downhill in November.
